I'm loving seeing all of the 30 Days of Gratitude over on Facebook! I wanted to take a minute to share what I'm most grateful for today - and I'm choosing today because this the day we're celebrating Thanksgiving with our extended family.
1. I'm most thankful for my husband being home. We spent our first Thanksgiving together diving in Belize; we spent the second one 7,692 miles apart. Steve was in Afghanistan with the Navy, working as a mentor to Afghan Special Forces troops. Thanksgiving was the first holiday he missed, so I'm always especially grateful at Thanksgiving for him to be home safe.
2. Every day, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the midwives, doulas, and families who trust us to help them with their waterbirths. Three years ago in November, we had our first client - I remember the call to make a reservation clearly, and how stunned I was that we announced we were open and promptly got a call. It is such a joy to be part of families' most special moments.
3. I'm delighted today about Thanksgiving dinner! My mother-in-law is cooking, and both of my husband's siblings and their families will be there.
